Be Honest!

When you are dating and trying to find that one girl, the one you can spend the rest of your life with and see yourself growing old with, don’t pretend to be someone you aren’t; BE HONEST! One of the worst things you can do when you are dating is to make yourself out to be some perfect person, when everyone knows there is no such thing.  Yes you can be on your best behavior, put your best foot forward, but if you don’t like a certain movie or certain food and she does don’t pretend you do because in the end, if you two get along real well and end up being together for a long time, you don’t want to have to do things or not be yourself in the end.

The best way to begin is to carefully analyze your past relationship (s).  What was right?  What was wrong?  What things really made you like the last person?  Which didn’t?  Don’t assume that just because you hated that your last girlfriend/boyfriend was so totally self-involved that they couldn’t see anything else, you’ll be able to overlook that quality this time. You won’t.

If you aren’t 6’1” with a six-pack to be proud of, don’t claim to be.  If you are a bar tender, don’t claim to be a lawyer with a six figure income. If you are 40 going on 50, don’t pretend to be 30 something.

Remember, the idea here is to find a date who will like you for who you are. If you  lie, the first face-to-face meeting will remove all  doubt that you are a liar…and probably a cheat, as well.

Lastly, once you have found a match that you believe can be the one for you make sure to let any other women you have been in touch with know that you are off the market, and if you have an online profile on any of the dating sites, make sure you take that down as well and cancel any memberships.  After all, you know and they know that online dating services are intended for those who are looking…not those who have found or been found.
